I thought Evans hand speed would be a factor too but I still didn’t think he had a chance against Machida. He hasn’t lost a single round out of 44 rounds in the UFC. The guy is on another level. Even with Evans hand speed he only hit Machida twice in almost 10 minutes…. The guy is amazing. I’m not dissing Evans here just saying Machida is going to be holding that belt for a long time. I don’t see anybody at 205 who can really challenge him.
I’ve been following Machida for a quite a while now. His counter left is incredible. He connects multiple times cleanly in every fight I’ve ever seen. It’s amazing… lightning quick and accurate.

Rashad got knocked down like 3 or 4 times before he got put to sleep. He never stood a chance. Give Machida some respect for demolishing your boy.
Wow dude,you were almost dead on. It was a left hand that ended Rashad’s night in the 2nd round only it was a KO not TKO.

I just saw another angle of the first Machida knockdown. That left @ 1:01 hit Rashad right on the chin. I think Rashad was already going down from the left and the right hand probably wasn’t necessary. That was a lot of kicks and punches thrown in one second.

Well said. Before the fight, I thought Lyoto’s strong point was the fact that he wouldn’t wear himself out like an average fighter. He stayed fresh and didn’t take unnecessary shots.
