Nah, his loss was because HE got cut and the fight was stopped as a result. The reason there is controversy is because it was inflicted by an illegal blow and as such should have been ruled a no contest.

close enough.. He actually got cut by an illegal elbow and couldn’t progress into the next round as it was a tournament. As it was a tournament a winner had to be chosen to go through to the next round so rather than it being a NC it had to be a loss.

I hate the way Dana has taken a popular money maker and put a belt around his waist as much as the next guy but Lesnar showed an explosiveness in the 1st fight that Mir wasn’t ready for. Personally i think that he’s going to be ready and win this time and id like to see the stamina of Lesnar be tested instead of all these quick fights. I see Mir winning this one by submission half-way through the second round. Then again it can go the opposite and Lesnar and destroy him with ground and pound

There are millions of different names for it. The 2nd one shown was actually an ankle lock. In any MMA a leg lock from the mount is highly difficult unless you have better speed and strength. Also these moves originate from jiu jitsu styled fighting where it’s more wrestling than anything.

I’ve tapped people with it. But it seems like one of those moves that you can only use once per person.
you really think someone is going to let you stretch there leg out twist, reach down and pull it up? This works on someone who: allows you to grape vine them, doesn’t control your upper body, allows you to turn and look for there leg, and assuming your upper body is stronger then there leg. It can work, but as with everything in BJJ, even though i think this is called a SAMBO leg lock, many things can happen.
