Ya more and more women are getting in the sport and it’s great. Don’t be intimidated ladies, most bjj instructors will put you with training partners they know are going to treat you right. If they don’t then find a school that will or has a woman’s class.

ppl with really good bjj can do it, but it’s really hard for most beginners/intermediate grapplers. you have to give up your back and protect your head until u can roll into their gaurd. a lot of wrestlers try to roll and take their leg, but most good grapplers stay too low on the mount.
Joanne is definitely hot and Kenny Florian is a world class fighter but….this was ground and pound defense in Florian’s guard. I wished they demonstrated ground-and-pound defense from mount.
i’m pretty sure a black belt bjj fighter like florian would know what he’s talking about. and plus, the wizzer is what keeps your opponent from taking your back.

As soon as you turn sideways to escape I get you in an over and under grip and take your back, bang you’re choked out. Ok you’re defending , the fence can’t harm you, but what about the opponent?

what if your opponent just follows up while u back up against the wall? he simply has to move his knees closer to your hip again to make sure u cant pull your leg out, doesnt he? because then u have no more room to back up or to move…

power guillotine its called. kenny has another grip i like which is really effective, its like a finger grip or ‘s’ grip and he uses the forearm of the non choking arm to lever on his opponents shoulder. its a horrible one to get caught in.
