Jennifer “Li’l Ice” Berg is a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter out of Denver, Colorado. Outside the cage she’s fun and nice, quick to smile and always encouraging others. But once the black chain-link gate closes behind her and the hammer strikes the bell, it’s time to watch the fur fly. This was filmed back when Jenn was weak and out of shape. Still, when I filmed her doing sit-ups (no, your memory isn’t shot…none of that footage made the final edit), I asked how many reps she could give me. “As many as you want,” she replied. That’s right, folks, she could serve up an infinitude of sit-ups…all day long, if need be. She has tremendous athletic ability, with astounding agility, strength, coordination, speed and endurance…as one might expect from her lifetime of training and years of commitment to MMA fighting. I’ve seen her fight: The girl is tough. She has a measured ruthlessness about her. Beating in an opponent’s face or trying to tear off an arm is part of the job, but there are times…times when her energy level rises to a level that’s flat-out scary. This usually happens shortly after she’s been punched hard herself. It has the effect of flipping a switch that renders pain, fear, and time inconsequential. Hurting her seems to just make her angry. And you wouldn’t like her when she’s angry. Jennifer turned pro in early 2010 and won her first pro fight. In her second fight (June 5, 2010 in Albuquerque) she will be HEADLINING. This portends of good things for
