Another treat for our fans. Here is a great look back at two of our best fighters just after they made their live event debut in a 40 minute match that became known as the WAR. About 4 weeks later they put on the MMA gloves and sparred in the gym. Our rules are no striking while standing or to the face. Lizzie loves to hit, did kickboxing, and just adores fighting. Cherry had made a major turn in her fighting career by standing up to Lizzie at the Sep 20 2008 Live Event, fighting a 40 minute draw against a girl who at the time was 25 lbs heavier and more experienced. So here they are with striking allowed. Look at how aggressive Cherry is – remember she had NO athletic experience before coming to TUFF just a few months before this was taped. And look at the incredible shape Lizzie is in as she fights back against her competitive rival. We knew these two were special, and this was a super find in our vault. It’s a SEVEN minute fight (no 3 minute rounds with time off in between), which ends when they finally roll off the mats and have to break. Remember, this clip is a year old…so they have improved even more..but even then, after a few months of training, they really got into it. To all of our loyal fans, ENJOY!
lizzie pretty much got her butt spread all over the mat in this clip! cherry for the most part contolled the match
them punchs most of hurt wow t respect them ladys this is good fighting
Cherry is so sweet!
@njpf123 No shows in Baltimore…just VA Beach…but people come from far away to watch us…
@drpuck Did you watch ufc 111? Loved GSP on the way he apologized to fans for not finishing fight. A truly gentleman . And his opponent is so full of heart(Dan Hardy). Maybe you should do a show here in UK. Do you do shows in Baltimore.
@tednguyen At this time she was 5’6 145-150
how tall is lizzie and how much she weigh?
cherry is really getting the best of lizzie in this clip!
I really love Lizzie, she’s a great grappler. She;s got great strength, but I think she doesn’t ues her lower body all that well. She’s constantly getting caught in scissors and when she’s in position to do one a lot of times she looses the opp.
Although Lizzie is my favorite, excellent move by Cherry at 5:24
Thats TUFF 08024 at the tufffbeach 2008 video store
What DVD is The War on? I’d like to get me a copy of that’n!
Doing it this weekend…are you part of the yahoo group? tidewaterfemalefighting we post updates there
This is old so how are the two now??
will do, thanks!
Can you make more of your training videos like this for sale on your website video store?
Two Greats in a great battle! Add it to the video store. 😉
Carly I’d be more worried about the “Officials’ in your tounaments who stand back with their arms crossed and take 5 secdonds to notice the person in a choke hold has gone limp ie. no air to the brain for 5 seconds. Maybe if the engaged the match like they should! (ref: you “Choke out clip”)
As for the “neck crank” here, crank infers a twist to the side much more than it was here. As for the “Spinal Lock” (lol) gimme a break!
1) They do allow armlocks
2) TUFF has great tap rules to prevent injury
3) these girls know they can get hurt this aint hop scotch.
wow… these girls are gonna get injured one of these days… you dont allow arm locks or chokes…. but you allow neck cranks and spinal locks…???…
be sure to vote your outcome in our yahoo group poll. Group is tidewaterfemalefighting. Join today!
Thanks, Drpuck for uploading this hellacious battle! It is very physical! Yes..by all means add it to the Video Store 🙂
Great work! I think Cherry is more aggressive: Lizzie only thinks to punch once she’s been punched. At 7:52 I thought Cherry was going to bite Lizzie’s leg. Nice escape though.
It is painful…Lizzie can take a LOT of pain…Cherry is a LOT stronger than she first appears..her upper body is deadly. So are her legs.
The move at 5:38 looks extremely painful
